The true definition of Custom

Campaigning works....really well

The "Fish Hawk" was a big hit....I guess

The Z boats were represented in Numbers and Style this year....Blinged to the max..and the boats were cool too.

The Brotherhood of the Hawk is alive and well.....and apparently, I'm the President

Nail polish looks cute on 200lb (that's like 90 kilos...I think) Canadians

As Jefe, I can get away with Murder...and we have no idea why

Mick "HOTSHOT" Is a great sport...thanks for not just killing me

We can all learn from the Kids...Sippy Cups are good on the boat to prevent spills.....especially when they are filled with RUM

The Trusedale women, can make some sweet crazy goodness.

Roads in Arkansas are WORSE than Louisiana.....I didn't think that was possible

90 gallon Aux tank in the truck is nullified by a small female blatter....but she was still LOTS of fun.

The Jamestown Staff went WAY above and beyond the year..AWESOME SERVICE!!!!!!

Then there are some things I already knew and had confirmed again

I LOVE DONZI GIRLS...and RED BIKINIS, and White, and Pink, and Blue and Black and Green and Purple Polka-Dots and.....well you get the picture:D

Todd, Byron, Jerry are great people..and Have even grreater ladies backing them up..thank you all for putting on such a great event.

Tom West, my brother and fellow captain of teh RBC...is....well....Tom West, either you get it...or you need to show up next year to find out... I love you man!

Seriously, I'm not going to lie to ya' I've not laughed so much I my whole life, Shea, Shawn, Robert....Thank You

Derik and Danielle are wonderful hosts....even without a bonfire

The Freakin' Cigs are absolutely sick....I was docked by Lil Max...words can not do it justice.

The Donzi Mechanic Brain trust of Horne, Truser and their minions are ALWAYS there, with whatever it takes to keep the boats going....The Irony of that this year for Mark kills me.....But the Crit is a beauty Amigo.

Donzi and Gig guys are the most incredible people.

Speaking of Incredible...how about Randy...tough as an old Grizzly. It was my honor to have him and the Lady Grizz aboard.

My brain is still fried from too many miles and not enough sleep, I'm sure other things will come to mind. The main point is Team Jefe had a blast. Brenda has already committed tom be back next year as has Matt with teh Formula...he was pretty quiet, but that is his way... I guess most people seemed subdued next to me at these things.

Cool t-shirts, but what?

Is the Blackhawk not a 22 Classic? Are there not a multitude of special edition 22 Classics that could have found their way onto the shirt this year? What was on the shirt this year? Answer, a red stocker, a Testerrosa, a Shelby, and yes, a Blackhawk LE.

To top it off, the only Blackhawk in the water spent most of the rally sitting at the docks, fresh-waxed and full of gas, but un-loved and un-used.

So I guess this was kind of a trial run to see if the Blackhawk guys could really hang as a theme boat for the AOTH and be the really big deal that these guys like to say they really are. No really, they are a big deal.

And they punted. Guess they were more interested in the fruit juice and toe nail polish pedicures than being the big dogs that they profess to be. More like a whimper in my opinion. But the boycott shirts were pretty funny, I do admit. I even bid on one at the auction.

So what next year, pickett signs and walking in a circle? And maybe the guys that bring their boats actually run them? I'm just sayin', a lttle weak, a little weak.

Now Hold up there Tripper......The Brotherhood of the Hawk was represented in good order all weekend.

Yes, we did have one Hawk tied to the dock for Friday to allow those arriving that day to admire the majesty of such a fine machine, and we had a member Hawk in the Lee's Ford Run....as I recall, that particular boat even provided some emergency services to Aid the support boat and not leave AOTH attendees stranded alone, cold and scared out of their wits.

That same trip, we have Hawk Brothers also accompanying a Z boat during some mechanical trouble. again providing a comforting presence in a disconcerting situation and keeping those AOTH Attendees from becoming disheartened.

For the Fun Run Saturday, all present Hawks were running and gladly took on numerous additional AOTH Attendees who might have otherwise been left at the Dock. Those passangers included two very special guests, so the brotherhood ensured that several members were present on that Hawk boat and that those special guests were well attended and cared for.

So to say the Blackhawks were not well represented seems to be a misnomer....since I also recall one of our boats winning this year's........

PEOPLE'S CHOICE CUSTOM AWARD....thank you very much:thumbs BOOYAAAAAAAA!!!!!!!!!!!

We are not sure what next year will hold, but one thing is for sure.....We all will make every effort to attend this awesome rally....even if we're..what some might call...boycotting

(DAAAAMN, I'm getting good at this Politicing stuff:twisted:)

as far as sitting at the dock, i wanted to ride in some different boats because i want a bigger boat. the theme for next year??? this is all my ralley and i am a really big big deal as you have told me numeres times. bid on the shirt?? no you tried to stop it! you only bid on it to get it out of there. the guys that bring them should run them??? i worked on a donzi for a friend untill 230 in the morning and got up at 6 to meet russ(thank you russ for all you did) in chatanooge thrusday morning at 9 to get the parts to fix it, all to no avail as i don't have all the tools we needed....we really work on our own boats! not just wax them. so before you and you gaint head get your foot stuck in your mouth, maybe you should try to find out the real story. mp please take me off this site before people start crying about stuphen's and all the other boats and peeps they don't care for

Jefe's response, tonque in cheek, just like mine. Thank you for seeing it that way.

Gero, you need to roll back some of what you just said. I was just poking fun at you characters. Didn't have time to get it done while you were here. And didn't you want two of this year's shirt, because it had the BHLE on it. This boycott stuff made you a target, so take a breath and just chill out a little. I did try to buy the t-shirt at the auction, not stop it, and I found the boycott funny, just like everybody else.

Mark, I have no idea what your Crit circumstance has to do with the Blackhawk boycott. And oh, BTW I spent a significant amount of time and agony trying to figure out how to get my boat to the water after breaking it prop testing the day before the run. Doesn't make your circumstance any different, it was crappy at best, but sometimes it just goes with the territory with these boats and we all deal with it at times.

Jefe's response, tonque in cheek, just like mine. Thank you for seeing it that way.

No Sir, No tongue in cheek.....I was dead serious, we are going to do everything we can to be at next year's rally. The entire Brotherhood had a freakin' blast.

As for Brother Gero.....please excuse his seemingly forceful behavior. I know he is saddened that the Rally is over and is having Post Rally Depression (PRD to those in the Healthcare Industry). Don't Laugh, PRD affects 3 out of 5 Rally Attendees and is serious business. Thank you for your understanding.:thumbs

Jill and I went over to JRM for a sunset evening cruise last night on the Formula. Man, that place was quiet and empty after seeing it last weekend. The only indication we had been there was Tom's boat description flyer still tied to a post on his slip and flapping the breeze. We left it there. Depressing. And maybe a sign of PRD.

Perhaps PRD effects people in different ways. To Mark's point, maybe a "wink-wink" emoticon would have headed off a PRD-fueled outburst. Me? I just remember and smile, and maybe poke a little fun to keep the flames going. One must work through their PRD symptoms.

You want to talk about a PRD hangover, you should see what these drive parts cost, and for a freshly re-rigged boat.

good times!

seriously, what?

as a silent partner in the hawk brotherhood I can say that I have not had a better time boycotting something than i did at the ralley

Granted we were a little saddened at the choice of a feature boat because of our pure determination last year to make this our year, and not a generic "make everyone happy" Classic 22

Apparently we had to get the right recruit to lobby for our cause because at least we did win the custom division- which we all take pride in (not exactly the same boat but we feel the heart is there)

back to the thread

-if you leave the roof off a jeep you need to find the drain holes after a bit off a rain

-buying 2 new motors doesn't mean that you won't have to spend 3 hours listen to canadians tell stories

-if you miss your ride at the raft off you just keep moving down the line

-if you have a cigarette boat you had better expect the tallest person at the event to think you have missletoe attached to the back of your belt

-62 steps to the top is way better than the regular 71

-don't stand right beside or behind gero in case she has a high power rifle that will go all the way through the first person

- you can always count on your buddies to not take advantage of a situation if they think it will bother you

- and the oscar goes to............

-being the unofficial boat of the year is almost as much fun

- center consoles "shouldn't" roll over, haven't yet anyways..........

- "no problem i will get the tools"...." hey look turtles!"........

-it sure is nice to fly back into a friendly country at the end of it all

but, I will take this one, as directed at me. You're going to dish it out, ya better be able to take it back. And I will.

Byron is the one that started the relationship with the Cig Boys. As more of them have come to our run, including their families and friends, we have made an effort to include them. All good.

But I also dog them, and dog them good. Even though, I know I have no chance when they really spool up. Phil is still ranting at me about being a "sandbagger" after surprising him on the run-what-you-brung portion of the fun rally. At this point, he thinks I run a lot stronger than I do. And this is after, he described his new engine, as an "intake manifold" change when I saw it in the parking lot. All in fun. All good.

So yes, if it is "mistle-toe", I am good with it. Last winter, Phil created some drive pieces that I was able to cobble together and use on my broken beast this past weekend, and without it my boat would have sat on the trailer. He has also contributed in a big way to the auction in the past two years. Tom A and Rick M both brought very, very nice rides this year, and are the nicest guys you could ever talk to. Shut up and listen, and Mike Lip and Charlie will also reveal a few secrets.

So Shea, here is my challenge to you and the Blackhawk Pride, bring a boat next year, and you try to run with these guys. Afterall, most of them are running a Blackhawk drive, so aren't they in fact, Blackhawk brothers with you? You will be humbled I promise that, because these guys back-up their bling, but you might learn a thing or two in the process, just as I have.

Bring it, if you got it, or sit on the porch and whimper like a puppy. I'll take all of the heat in the world for the Cig guys.... our run has a whole different dimension when they show up.

BTW, this has got to be the first time there has been more trash talk AFTER a rally, than before, that I can remember. For those feeling a little bruised, suck it up.

I find this recap of AOTH X to be eerily familiar to some of the goings-on that occurred at AOTH XII. It reminds me of the movie Ground Hog Day. Funny movie, but I’ve seen it many times, and it has gotten to be predictable.

One person that was not at AOTH XII was Big Grizzly. I think of him often, when I attend these runs that he attended, and the fun that we had together. At AOTH X, we honored Randy with the Spirit of the Awakening Award, and I know he was truly honored and touched by it, as he was, and remains, a big part of our community. This year, Red Dog converted a video from the first AOTH to DVD and sent a few to me for the auction. Of course, I took a peek at one with Jill, and it featured several minutes of Randy showing off his boat, and just being Grizz. I did give one to Barb at the run.

One lesson I took from Randy was that he didn’t tolerate foolishness very well, especially if it got in the way of just having fun at this hobby. I feel that I share the same DNA with him in regards to this, or maybe he just taught me a few things over the years. Either way, it’s a good lesson, and I thank him for it.
