Eufaula 2011 - Labor Day Weekend Donzi Event

After talking with Lady Grizz and other past attendees, it was unanimously decided that the Eufaula event will occur this year over the Labor Day Weekend.

The Event will be headquartered at George T. Bagby State State Park and Lodge (http://www.gastateparks.org/GeorgeTBagby) unless it becomes over-booked too soon. If that's the case, we'll move it to Lakepoint State Park and Lodge.

For that reason, it is best to book your room or cabin now.

Even if you are on the fence and remotlly think that you may want to attend but are not totally sure tha you can, you should go ahead and book now anyway. You always cancel up to three days in advance with a full refund if necessary.

The Eufaula Event will occur during Labor Day Weekend 2011.

Arrive date: Friday, September 2, 2011
Leave date: Monday September 5, 2011

This is a special Eufaula event. Not only we have a great time getting together and running our Donzis and other Aronow boats, we will take a moment where Big Grizzly will permanently become one with Lake Eufaula. Randy always had a wonderful time at the Eufaula Event and we always had wonderful time with him over the last 14 years.

You know, last year when I found out that Randy couldn't make it to Eufaula, I decided to cancel the event. He wanted to go really bad, but he just couldn't. Knowing that, I said to myself, if Randy can't make it then to hell with it, there won't be an event. It just would't be the same without him.

But this year after talking with Barb, I have decided to not only revive the Eufaula event, but to have this special commemorative Eufaula event in Randy's honor.

I sure hope that everyone who would like to attend does so. Nothing would make all of us happier than big turnout of Randy's many friends from these boards.

As Big Grizzly would have it, we will make some noise and we will have a great time!

Who all is planning on attending this year? Andrew and I will be there, we're booked at Bagby.

Though the turnout was small and it rained all day Sunday, we had a great time and celebrated a special tribute to Big Grizzly at the Donzi pull-up spot on the Big Island.

We'll do "Eufaula" again. It may be next year, or it may be the year after. Randy made this event what it was, and it's just not the same without him.

We surely miss him.

Forrest, would love some pictures if possible. I have some ongoing issues at work that kept me from coming up, but you guys were in my thoughts all weekend.
