No worries Mr. Senator. It was good to finally run with you guys. I headed north after we parted ways. The boat ran like a scalded cat and I ended up with over 100 miles on the GPSr.

Even though I didn't actually make the formal run It was good to see everyone again, even if just for a short time. Thanks to everyone who made this event possible. I know it takes a lot of work behind the scenes to make things happen. I know a lot of people had a great time.

jl1962: I enjoyed meeting and talking with you on Friday but I have to admit it wasn't 'till much latter that I made the connection between your screen name and your real name. Too many new faces in too short a time.

It was good to finally meet Big Grizzly. I wish we could have talked a bit...

'Poodle: I'm glad you didn't get "Mad Dog". The blue boat suits you.

Matty: On Sunday who had the Testarosa 22? ...and who had the white/yellow 22? I'm still trying to figure out who everyone is...

Frank,

About 9:45 Sunday morning I left Treasure Cove between raindrops and headed North. I figured I would buzz the Sagamore and every one having brunch. Halfway up it started to rain hard so I turned and ran back south. Later, when I got back to TC, Scott P and others said they saw me (red boat/white seats) in front of the Sagamore but I never made it that far - it must have been you. Sorry we didn't get to run together. As I was driving home, it was bright sunshine by the time I reached Albany, I almost turned around. Oh well, we'll do it another time. Perhaps Kirby and I could meet you on Champlain sometime.

Frank, sorry I didn't get to meet you Friday night and I wasn't able to make the tour on Sunday. We shold definately try to get the boats together over the summer, when jay is up in August. I'm in Ticonderoga almost every weekend.

Matty, Scott, Cheri and Marie...Fantastic job. i've run other kinds of events in teh past and know the amound of work and coordination it takes to pull off a classy event like this one. Loved the format, and we can definately add a northern stop for the pocker run in Heart Bay next year.

and if you aren't, you should be, darn it!

Had a blast at LG. New event, new lake, and a lot of new people, but the boat ran like it had been there before. Great air, super water conditions, and nothing but sunshine.

Perfect.

folks let's not forget who we are talking about my only political agenda is "what good is power if you can't abuse it" but I guess that does work in the donzi circle hmmmmm
to qoute a politically connected former texan who was a donzi owner too "if nominated i will not run and if elected I will not serve" but if Pearson needs a hand I WILL ALWAYS BE THERE :) plus i have a cool avatar for the senator, no I am just a helper

some random thoughts on the weekend

the trash talk crew will now be called the the "ISH" crew
"hey that boat runs what's it got?? a stock 502 well a stock-ISH 502 seemed like everyone talked the talk and everyone walked the walk

under i think I made a mistake category
If I had a great running 18 last year and almost kept up with the 22's and I buy a 27 progression and still have 22's pass me umm let's see can anyone see the mistake???

the boathouse not just for converstaion sake anymore

we have a new good weather luck charm probably one of the south boys let's see poodle, jim or chrome?? no they have been there in the rain, my money is on Griz,Charles, todd or the fact that Pearson had long sleeve shirts

5 criters at one event is this a first??

Di and Cliff's criterion hull number one is awesome and in the right hands

Dr Dan and Bob well let's see what ya got I got 77.8 mph and 2 bachelorettes?????? :p I know That is definetely a first

Poodle and Buizilla Janice and Heidi love NY seafood followed by chunky monkey or more fishfood

Griz and Barbara make a great donzi team was great to meet you

Team Slapshot great shirts guys

Need for Speed great guy quiet til you get him behind the wheel of his 22

under best coversation with a dock boy
Mattyboy-"john here's 5 bux I know you have no spots but see the guy in the 32 formula"
Dockboy- yeah,
Mattyboy-" well he is the former president of our club can you get him in with us"
Dockboy- he owns a formula??
Mattyboy- why do you think he is the former president?
Dockboy_ I'll get him in right away sir

Frank Jay and Kirby love to run their boats

brendan and geri crew really like each other and love the pic of the criterion

Marie can only talk the talk she can't walk the walk, and once her foot heals i am sure she will make good on all that talk about putting her foot up my ...........

Pearson was unusually mature this weekend wonder if turning 40 had anything to do with it or the fact that we held out on his gift bottle til monday ???

this was an ego test weekend for mattyboy first he has to park next to a 35 powerplay than a 38 cig gladiskater then they dock me next to dwight and pearson ???

a real bug had it's way with the fake bug in pearson hatch

what would tick off the owner of the redsox more, George signing a new free agent or chrome doing flyby's past his new lakefront home in **** Yankee at 6 am???

Matty, looks like you guys had a great time.
I believe ISH first reared it's ugly head 5-ish beers into a warm-ish evening with RT, Jill, and a few others on a dock slighty North-ish of LG.

some more firsts
usually at stop 2 i am near hypothermia and so cold and damp that my shivering loosens up my rub rail screws but the temps were near 90 that early in the morning and the sun was so warm at the stop i needed to shed my pfd and well i took advantage of the lounge seating and sunned myself it was so calming with the water lapping up on the hull I nodded right off thank god it was a donzi run and not a blowboat run the sound of 24 classics woke me up before they could get close enough to snap some pics which I am sure would not have been the flattering kind

the awards were so close when it came to judging we needed phone calls and laptops i thought I had owners choice all sewn up I covered my bases with drinks and dead presidents all to find out my boat wasn't eligible DOOH!

we had all new dock boys, the old ones have moved up the chain now waiters and matradees the new ones need to be schooled in the fine art of donzi regonition how did that zx daytona get in( no not gonna be a first)??? oh dockboy !!!! they still did a great job

membership in the LK george sailing club, $4500, beautiful sunny day with a 8 mph wind out of the north east priceless, having your sailing course in the path of 24 screaming dino burning, fire breathing, earth shaking Donzi, worth it's weight in gold god is a donzi fan :) I could hear it in a dry martini, stuffed shirt, waspy , judge smails voice " why I never" Muffy batten down the hatches, do you believe this?? who let these people in

I think some one should make some calls seems there is a pic floating around of what looks like a classic with a white deck and a yellow stripe with a 500 efi in it there were only a few yellow boats there one of which was an 18 and if it was in an 18 the smack talkers would have been smacked arses ;) so someone has some splaining to do LUUUCY!!!

first tow with the explorer it was a breeze but now i got a tow vehicle I am launch boy??? only kidding it was my pleasure dumping all those 22's

we tried some new places and the survey says the lakeside, the boathouse and fins and claws :thumbs:thumbs:thumbs great places great fun on fins and claws be prepared to get dirty a real jersey shore type seafood place when they say fish and chips they mean "a whole fish and some chips"

and a first time for new owner John of treasure cove he went out of the way for us he has some plans for the group in the future should be a great relationship

and a big thanks to Dr Dan who picked up our slack as we were not able to entertain the group with Maries bad wheel so we heard Dr Dan thru the sat night "after party" party sorry we couldn't make it Dan but we heard Scott drop his 6 pack from our room LOL

If you want to learn how to speak Brooklynese..come see me..Born and raised and still have my accent..I refuse to ever let it go! lol

I lived in Brooklyn for 24 years.
I still have a condo there and go back every now and then to fix it up.
Best area in the city !

I moved there from Florida to go to Pratt Institute.
So no Brooklyn accent but plenty of Brooklyn attitude !

My condo that I lived in for ten years is at third avenue and Pacific Street 1 block from the LIRR Atlantic terminal on Flatbush.

The New Jersey Nets are moving back there in a new arena now under construction.

Brooklyn is the greatest !

We moved up to the burds cause the schools were so bad for the kids.
I get back to Brooklyn few times a year.
They are building residential housing everywhere.
Things are changing rapidly.
Bedford Stuyvesant is a decent neighborhood now.
They're taking down the Pier warehouses and making the waterfront next to the Brooklyn Bridge a great multi use waterfront park.
May be if they put a marina in we can stop by in the Donzi?
Someday . . .
