Whats the charge to exhibit?

A boat or to sell stuff?

For a boat and if you are a ACBS member its like 25 or 30 bucks.

There's actually a charge to EXHIBIT one's own boat? To exhibit a boat that is not for sale? Do I have that right? <scratches head>

Space is limited and they put on a good show.

Whatever the market will bear, I suppose.

this is a non-profit club running a no-profit show. If the club screws up and makes money by accident after show expenses are paid, the club gives the money to some boat or marine charity the same year that the show was held in. Any donations in the past were made at the November meeting and voted on by the club membership. Also, any guest of a member hears this and other club business at that meeting. Hope this helps.

Apologies if I was less than clear. I wasn't concerning myself in any way with how much was collected or what happened to it. It just struck me as odd that there would be a market to pay to exhibit classic boats for any reason other than to sell them. If there is, that's great for the show.

A boat. So, it's 30.00 to exhibit?

If you are a ACBS member its 40 bucks and you get two passes to the show for the whole 3 day weekend and a couple other things.

I'm not a ACBS spokes person and for that matter its my first year but...
They put on a good show. Flee market, boats for sale, outboards, boats being judged on land and slips, food, the maritime museum, art, etc, etc. There's a lot to do not to mention who shows up.

Many, buy not all , Antique & Classic car shows & concours events, have a similar display exhibition "Entry fee" .
This helps pay for trophy awards, blue ribbons, dash plaque badges, programs, signs, security & traffic control, visitor liability insurance, local permits ,& licence, etc.
Also visitors sometimes pay a fee to attend.

Usually all excess entry money collected from attendees at most of these events goes to some local worthwhile charity.

How much if your not an ACBS member?
You have to be a member. Which I think is 110 a year but that to comes with benefits.

Boat Show Festival pricing is best handled by my friend Dominic. He knows this stuff. He can be reached at 410-437-3989 or dadsday2013@verizon.net .

It is my assignment within the Chesapeake Bay Chapter to get you guys excited about the show. I also arrange the seminars that run all day, the Saturday, of the Festival.

I can be reached at 518-281-0045 or brcwb@aol.com . My name is Chris Brown. By the way, I was in a wheelchair at last year's show but I am walking around now. (My health has beeen an issue for me over the last few years. I continue to recover from a stroke last Oct.)

We need to cut off signing in to bring your classic boat and classic boat stuff/parts/boats for sale by June1, 2013. The show welcomes all classics. Boat owner decides if his/her boat is judged/ just shown/ or for sale.

Come on DMRS folks, join us.
Very proud when Madpoodle told me about sponsorship. We have to represent even if it is just you stopping by to buy me a drink. LOL.
If I can do it you all can. You guys have a lot nicer stuff then what I do. I'm not going to name names but I know there's a few boats around this area that I've seen pictures of on this site and others that should go to the show.:thumbs

I'm hoping for next year if I can get the deck refinished over the winter as planned.

So you can come by car? Want a boat to take? Come clean up the Monza. LOL

Mike, it's an antique boat show, not a concours. EVERYONE there has seen their boats at their worst, and yours is a far cry from being at it's worst. You should take it man, I think it will be a hit.

LOL, or regress a bit and take the Nova....

It is about enjoying boats, guys. Bring what you got. Nice crowd of "I like boats" folks and some very know-able folks to ask and answer questions about boats there. Call if I can help. 518-281-0045. Chris (seabuddy) Brown. This event is put on by a hobby club. There are about 300 members. About 130 fiberglass, wood, and metal boats on land and in-the-water. About 30 of us plan the event. The next boat show meeting is this Thursday, May 25, 2013. These meetings are open to the public, too, take this as a personal invite by Chris Brown to come on over around 5:30 PM. This year's theme is Racers, Runabouts, and Cruisers.

Appreciate the kind words and encouragement. You've sold me that the boat could go as-is though it's just not in the cards this year. With a charity golf tourney I play every year, Father's Day, etc, the best I'm able to do is take Lisa and the pup over there for one day to enjoy the show as attendees. Hoping we might see some others from here.

EDIT: My stretch goal for this year is Lake George.

If you think it will be a Friday visit, call me and I'll get you a boat ride. We try to match up private boats/owners and showgoers for a cruise around 2 PM on Friday of the show. If you want to be in this on-the-water event, call me, chris (seabuddy) brown, 518-281-0045 a week ahead of time.

If you have not called or e-mailed me by now, I want to say that a week out from the Show, I rescind my offer with registration fees. Still will sponsor a "Best Donzi" award that will be judged by the Donzi boat owners at the show. They will decide whose boat is the Best Donzi there.

I have kept away from any and all Donzi boats being registered information. Dominic manages that for the club. So, if one boat shows, that boat wins. If 10 show then those 10 boat owners will grab a beer or two (I'll supply) and decide who has the best Donzi, using their personal criteria.

FYI, The Award is brought and I asked that it be engraved for this year's Show.

I may also have a prize to add to the best Donzi also if it ever shows up.

Does it have something to do with a restored lantern?

Nope, more Donzi related. The lamp stays just a few feet away from where I'm at now just incase the next storm is a little worse.
