Thanks! We're in. That coincides nicely with a month of leave that I need to burn before the end of summer. Sending the bat signal to the other half of the crew tonight. Gonna be hot as balls in July...

Ok, just got off the phone with Hale's to book floating cabin #1 for the duckhunter crew. Here's the scoop on availability for 25-28 July:
12 x 1br floating cabins
6 x 1br land cabins
2 x 2br land cabins
3 x 3br land cabins
both rustic cabins
6 x waterfront RV
20 x normal RV
Phone number is 423-942-9000
Additionally, I have a small Army tent and a fart sack that will be available to rent at a nominal fee for anyone that can't make it all the way back to the cabins from A-dock.

Base looked similar to my Bosch. We used to do a lot of business with them, I was able to score one of their refurb units for a song. Full warranty, looked brand new, and way more than I need to butcher wood. Used it today as a matter of fact to screw up some baseboards LOL :) :)

Alright, I've been flying over Hale's Bar at least 4x a month since Dec. Right on the flightpath between HSV and DCA. You can pick out the floating cabins and A-dock from 25k feet and climbing.... Just makes me look forward to another Gorge Run! Boat is just about ready for spring commissioning and sea trials. Hoping to not be the slowest boat this year, but with the deckboat out of the running it will be an uphill battle!

OK, one month from tonight the boat will be docked outside of floating cabin #1, cooler(s) full of beer, and the Pearl Jam / Jason Aldean / hippie classic rock / booty music will be jamming (slightly eclectic music tastes in the duckhunter crew). :dj:

Unfortunatley Team Yellow Devil has to cancel, I just purchased a new house and my closing date is scheduled for 7-26-13, which is the Friday we were scheduled to be at Chatt and I can use that weekend to get in and do some painting before we move in.
Needless to say my boy's arent very happy with me but hopefully that will change after they move into the new house which happens to be on a lake.
All I can say is we will plan on next year and I was so looking forward to a juicy steak and ice cold beers.
take care,

Is anyone else interested in doing some prop testing at the gorge? I am bringing my stash and am always game to try new stuff as I still haven't found "the" prop for my setup.
Here's what I will have:
Mercury Bravo 1 4B 15.5 x 22P
Mercury Vengeance 3B 14.5 x 19P
Turbo 2+2TH 4B 14.0 x 20P
If you've got something collecting dust in the garage I would love to give it a shot... The B1 is for sale for what I've got in it minus depreciation for the 1hr of run time. Let's say $350 and a cold beer. These are $575 from Merc.

I've been doing some prop testing up here lately. If anyone who is making the trip to Chatt has a Mirage PLUS 23 RH that he is looking to sell, that's what's next on my list to test. I think it's what I need. If it does what I expect it will, I'll be prepared to buy it on the spot with cash.

Maybe we can do a little test & tune on Thurs before everyone else starts rolling in, and maybe Sun as well. If you haven't tried a 22P B1 yet I know a guy that has one! I'm overpacking as usual and will have a timing light w/ tach, GPS, vacuum/fuel pressure gauge, prop wrench, etc in the truck. And the special grease for the bushwhacker machine. And 800 beers.

Funny, the 22 pitch labbed Bravo 1 is my favorite prop from all my testing so far. Not the fastest I've tried, but the boat just loves it. I'm using it now for my everyday prop.
