I-40 West - NC / TN Border...
...is down to one lane for what appears to be rock-slide prevention work. The lane-closure / construction is just inside the TN border, but it backs up westbound traffic thru NC quite a ways. It's a "merge left" into one lane deal clogging everything up, so if you have your wife or significant other traveling with you, put a pillow under her shirt pretending she's pregnant and about to give birth, turn on your flicker lights and pass everyone on the right, or shoulder...then jump in at the last minute, the delay is not that bad.
We have decided to name our newborn pillow after the Officer that pulled us over for traveling on the shoulder. For those interested, Mother and Pillow are doing fine. With any luck at all, I should make bail on Monday.
Seriously though, we crawled an hour and a half through that mess.
If you're headed to Chatt, or otherwise, try to avoid it.
