We need to cut off signing in to bring your classic boat and classic boat stuff/parts/boats for sale by June1, 2013. The show welcomes all classics. Boat owner decides if his/her boat is judged/ just shown/ or for sale.
Come on DMRS folks, join us.
Very proud when Madpoodle told me about sponsorship. We have to represent even if it is just you stopping by to buy me a drink. LOL.
If I can do it you all can. You guys have a lot nicer stuff then what I do. I'm not going to name names but I know there's a few boats around this area that I've seen pictures of on this site and others that should go to the show.:thumbs
I'm hoping for next year if I can get the deck refinished over the winter as planned.
Mike, it's an antique boat show, not a concours. EVERYONE there has seen their boats at their worst, and yours is a far cry from being at it's worst. You should take it man, I think it will be a hit.
LOL, or regress a bit and take the Nova....
It is about enjoying boats, guys. Bring what you got. Nice crowd of "I like boats" folks and some very know-able folks to ask and answer questions about boats there. Call if I can help. 518-281-0045. Chris (seabuddy) Brown. This event is put on by a hobby club. There are about 300 members. About 130 fiberglass, wood, and metal boats on land and in-the-water. About 30 of us plan the event. The next boat show meeting is this Thursday, May 25, 2013. These meetings are open to the public, too, take this as a personal invite by Chris Brown to come on over around 5:30 PM. This year's theme is Racers, Runabouts, and Cruisers.
Appreciate the kind words and encouragement. You've sold me that the boat could go as-is though it's just not in the cards this year. With a charity golf tourney I play every year, Father's Day, etc, the best I'm able to do is take Lisa and the pup over there for one day to enjoy the show as attendees. Hoping we might see some others from here.
EDIT: My stretch goal for this year is Lake George.
If you think it will be a Friday visit, call me and I'll get you a boat ride. We try to match up private boats/owners and showgoers for a cruise around 2 PM on Friday of the show. If you want to be in this on-the-water event, call me, chris (seabuddy) brown, 518-281-0045 a week ahead of time.
New guy will run the Friday boats on the water event. He says "Poker Run".
some of the event registration is closing or is closed. Other stuff is still open.
If you have not called or e-mailed me by now, I want to say that a week out from the Show, I rescind my offer with registration fees. Still will sponsor a "Best Donzi" award that will be judged by the Donzi boat owners at the show. They will decide whose boat is the Best Donzi there.
I have kept away from any and all Donzi boats being registered information. Dominic manages that for the club. So, if one boat shows, that boat wins. If 10 show then those 10 boat owners will grab a beer or two (I'll supply) and decide who has the best Donzi, using their personal criteria.
FYI, The Award is brought and I asked that it be engraved for this year's Show.
I may also have a prize to add to the best Donzi also if it ever shows up.
Does it have something to do with a restored lantern?
