Happy to show off the new boat to another Formula lover, no problem. But the Donzi will be the one in the water for AOTH!
P.S. Got the AOTH bracelets today. Look awesome. Thanks for supporting the MWDC.

I am officially out, and understand there are no more rooms. I have one booked, anyone need it before I give it up?
Dang Baxter, I was lookin forward to seeing ya. Hope all is well, I'll mail your ___ and disc of proof to ya.
A few DO'S and DON'T'S for anyone attending AOTH X next week.
DO:
1. Come with a great ATTITUDE! This is a great event with a great group of people. Barbi and I have been going since 2004 and wouldnt miss it!
2. Have your boat filled up with gas. While we will have a designated tow boat lined up, being towed sucks and is not a great way to save on gas.
3. Bring your camera. People will be taking pictures of you and you can do the same for them. Treasure these special times with pictures:)
4. remember to bring an item to donate to the Auction. Everyone attending is asked to bring an item. Suggested items (and not limited to): anything Donzi (shirts, hats, towels, robes, blankets, coolers, artwork, Cigarette stuff as well for the Cigarette attendees), boat items (use judgement), beer/booze/wine are acceptable as well. Last year we had a very cool autographed Don Aronow signed steering wheel, autographed guitar, and a set of golf clubs with bag donated. Note: This is not a white elephant type thing, don't bring some old mud-grip tires or a fender off of a '73 Monte Carlo.
5. take off the lines off of your boat when you leave the dock. Appearantly some people have a pet peeve of wanting to take some really cool photo's of your boat and they don't like it when your line is on (I've been guilty of this, oops).
6. bring a jacket and some pants. While the weather is looking like you may not need any of this stuff, be prepared. Bring a bathing suit for the flip side of this point.
7. plan on seeing some floating lumber in the water. Reports are showing the lake is clearing up, but you never know what might pop up.
8. bring beverages of your choice. If you like drinking non-virgin beverages, ya need to bring your own stash. This is a dry county so nothing is sold in the stores.
DON'T....
1. complain about the weather! While we have no control over the weather, it is what it is. Our past experience has been we have had fun no matter what it is.
2. bring a NEGATIVE attitude! This is a fun event, don't screw it up for the majority of everyone having a GREAT TIME! If you break down (of which we have a couple of times), there are many of us there willing to help fix either your boat or you and your crew up with a ride. If you complain about everything, you should save your time and money and spare everyone else, no one wants to listen to you!
3. bring any arrogance. This is a great group of people that attends this event and the one thing that many agree with me on regarding this event is that it is pretty easy-going. If you have an ego, leave it at home.
Feel free to contribute any other DO'S/DONT'S of value, I may have missed some. Tentatively, pre-registrations are showing around 50% Newbies this year. If you happen to be one of these Newbies, feel free to ask me any questions, I am more than willing to help you out (Barbi and I were once Newbies as well, we understand).
Look forward to meeting/seeing you down there in less than a week. Have a safe trip down,
tom
Things are shaping up...
"Just for informational purposes,
We had a call yesterday and ran the boat out of Lee's Ford Marina to respond. Fishing Creek was surprisingly clear of debris.
Today I was at Waitsboro Recreation Area and no debris was noted anywhere in sight except on the bank.
Yesterday I was at Halcombs Landing pulling a boat out of the water that came from Grider. No debris reported or seen on the main lake at all.
No debris noted in the Jamestown area.
I have no report from the Conley area as of now.
The water is a little muddy colored from the runoff, but most of the debris is already hung on the bank and the lake is settling back to 680. Unless we get another quick rise I would not expect conditions to change. We had some good winds while the lake was going down that caused the debris to clear pretty quickly.
There is a lot going on in the next few weeks. If you want to be a part of any of it I suggest you get on your mechanic's schedule to get summarized or you may be caught up on a list and not launched when you want to be.
The water color should improve over the next couple weks as the sediment settles out."
Well, now that it has been announced, it gives me great pleasure to let our friends who are preparing to leave or already have left for the AOTH X Rally, the news that the Donzi Marine Restoration Society is the exclusive sponsor of the People's Choice Awards this year.
How cool is that?
