I'm out for the count, and not amused. Work has interfered, and there is no two stepping around it so home I must stay. Enjoy, be safe, and send pictures please!
i'm pulling my hair out...
Sorry MP. Not much more to say. Buiz, leave that thing at home, if you have to, but get up to Tennessee.
I had a complete technology melt-down yesterday, all of which I rely on heavily for my business. I almost stood up and said f-it, and got on the road. Still, not that far from it, but first to the Verizon store for a fricking, temporary phone...
Nothing is going to get between me and A-Dock...
GREAT NEWS... Hedgehod will be conducting tours of the Haunted Hales Bar at 1 am every night !! Items to bring : candle, matches, recording device and plenty of diapers. We will be filming so we can be added to the rest of the video's on You Tube. However our title will be "Donzi Do Do's in there pants"
I'm un-registering from the board until Monday :( :( :( :bye:
If Poodle's not going, I am not going.......yeah, right....... :)
Been trying to figure out if I could make this trip for a while. Only chance is to go stag. Turns out I can go and I can get a room at Hale's.
I just bought another boat (aww $hit--red boat row gets one bigger) but the trailer has no chance to be ready in time for this trip.
When I first talked to Hedge over a week ago, it sounded like there were plenty of boats for the Gorge weekend. But it sounds like there's been a fair amount of attrition since then, so I have no feel if there's room to hitch a ride.
So, if anyone has a sense of whether there are enough boats that I should hop in the car and just do it, let me know ASAP either way. I will confirm my room and be down tomorrow afternoon. (And will likely have space for a couple more people, if anyone is stuck with a campsite or anything like that.) If the answer is we're short of space, no worries, I will just wait for another event.
Thanks,
Mike
Mike, I am sure there will be plenty of seats. Between Stan, Andre, Bill, Brian (hopefully), Jim, Cliff, Phil, Parnell, and god knows who else, there should be plenty of seats. For example, not speaking for them by any means, Stan and Susan should have seats and I know Cliff will have some seats. Jim will have seats also. I think Parnell is coming solo also. We will tie you to a deck if we have too..... :) I bring gas money, but no one has ever taken any even though I offer. Doesn't hurt to keep some in your pocket to help out with whatever boat you end up in. Plus, Susan could use and official hat holder.
Get your ass down there! :)
not bringing my boat, but there will be plenty of open seats....
4 Oclock and no boat yet Now its raining like a ***** so we cant test the shifting. Jeeez
Probably testing at dusk Boat is going to be a mess but who cares if I get there.
DW I owe you a ride sorry its not the 21 but you might find my 16 to be interesting after owning one.
Travel safe everyone.
Parnell
Okay, my arm is plenty twisted. I'll be down tomorrow afternoon, maybe in the 3 -6 range.
If anyone needs a place to crash, they said my "rustic cabin" sleeps up to 7. Supposedly, it is a 2 min walk from A-dock...maybe that's 4 minutes if you're weaving.
I will bring plenty of beer and gas money, and a steak for the grill night.
Is there anything else that would be a help? More side dishes? Desserts? Cups/plates/napkins/utensils? Anything?
Mike
Rum for Bushwhackers.
I am planning on arriving Sat am for the run and cookout.
Mike, PM sent.
Well, I guess I will let the cat out of the bag. Your GT and I have been seeing each other since AOTH and are very much in love. It is a great relationship. I am sorry if she did not tell you. All I ask is that you do not tell her that you are bringing the 16 and that I will be there. She will think I am cheating on her......... :)
Seriously, I was actually looking foward to seeing the 16 after the amazing job you did on the GT. If you need help getting her squared away, I am ready to hop in the bildge at anytime, just say the word. Great place for getting a Donzi dialed in, you will be surrounded by gear heads and donzi nuts......... :)
You are all a bunch of SOB's........:Eye::CA8:
Have mega fun, be safe, wear your PFD's and lanyards and keep John out of the rum.......he gets goofy.......:h3:
I'm making the trip just 'cause you're going. Did you figure out whether you are coming in Thurs or Friday? I need to know which day to wear my "Aww man, Phil is going to kick my a$$" shirt. :)
I'll be down on A-dock singing Feliz Navidad. Looking forward to it.
Mike
Holy Cow ! (That's great news!) Friday noonish...with "Feliz Navidad" bells on ! ;)
Probably more towards 3-4ish if you don't want to wear that t-shirt that long. ;) But do remind me....;)
Trailer brake issues will hopefully be resolved by then, (some steep mtns between here & there) but will be there either way.....ready to "dial it up a bit " ! :) :h3:
Phil
Dre and I are here. We were going to hang in Nashville last night but decided that it would be good to get rolling. Come find us at the Roamer!
Hoping to leave town around 5 which would put me there around 7. That is, of course, if I would stop goofing off and get my work done! Will call you this afternoon, Hedge.
Well, after some blow-ups at work, getting a trailer tire repaired, afternoon traffic, and the usual gas/drinks stop I got on the road...at 9:00! Finally got here, and the early folks had already gotten it started right.
Come on the rest of you...see you soon.
Life is gooood! :) :)
What a dang good time. Hedge is in the airport flying out to work but the party is still going on. I want to thank everyone that attended. The run got a little bigger this year and would not have been the same without help fro some key individuals. Who to thank? Basically everyone. There was not a sole there that the not help in some way. That is what made it a great run. Every time I turned around someone was doing something or buying something. W had a GREAT group of people. I was certainly busy but am more than happy to kick off the third annual Gorge run next year!
No man, THANK YOU for all the hard work. You throw a hell of a shin dig. It was a truely epic time and event! Can't wait till next year!
I saw some of the behind the scenes logistics opportunties, especially with the race gas, and the extra effort was greatly appreciated. End result was trading drive-bys with Tex and Dre all the way back from Goose Pond and some very memorable moments on the water, without having to worry about running out of fuel.
This was just one example of a great weekend. The Gorge Run rocks. And it's the people that really make it.
Thanks Bill.
