Hey Cliff....Have you..........
Funny thing is, up until last night there really wasn't any smack talk going around about Chatt. It was a little strange, I must admit. And I do have the reputation of throwing it around, so ya just run with it. As for Sandbagging, I am just a novice compared to a few others that will be in the hood at Hales Bar, but to even be mentioned in the same context is good for this wannabe.
In regards to the top secret cav plate, we are on to v2, and it has nothing to do with the Cig Boys, as it was designed and created by Donzi Crew right here. Truth? The thing slows the Flowerpot down, but the handling improvements and the durability factor, sick of the old shrapnel drive part game as referenced by Trueser, are driving me to stick with it and tune the boat to it, which is taking a ton of time. If all I was worried about was speed, we could just mount up the Break-O-Matic IMCO plate with a P5 Hydro and go drag ZX's, slot car style.... Just might.
Fear the Flowerpot! Yeh right.
Looking forward tone cave plate unavailing and expecting stellar results, being that it was designed in house at the donzi camp....Todd you are the master at sandbagging and think that it will be awesome to run rail to rail with yuo.....
I will be arriving Thursday afternoon with the weasel and getting things prepped for a weekend of festivities and burning up some benjamins....
And yes we have a cocktail cruise on Friday evening planned for those who are there and ready to get things started....it will either be on the sport fish or the Roamer depending on headcount....
Anyone on the fence about coming get off and bring it, the more the merrier.......
Tex
wherever the hell it is we're going, i'm gonna have to leave an hour ahead so I don't get left in the spray...
I will be with you. We can let the high speed guys strafe by. That will probably be most of us. I was thinking about a nice 50 mph run up the Gorge.
Do we have any other real fast boats other than SE and Tex?
SE is right.....don't take the bait on my X-18. It did look like it was running 90 as it pulled away but a proper Donzi should look like it is running 90 when sitting at the dock.
We will be there Friday evening, but do not know exactly what time. It all depends on Lady Mario(aka Lady Griz)
i'll be there Thurs morning.... hopefully.... plan to take my time, cruise around, and suck up the scenery... BOTH directions.... never been on this river before, so i'm gonna take my sweet time wherever it is I go.... speed demons take note.. if you see me going in the opposite direction, i'll be back to the dock at some point...
Tripper, you got an updated attendance list?
You guys let that "I'll leave an hour early to make sure I get where you are going, too" stuff stand, and I get hauled out as the Sandbagger? I might be a Sandbagger, but only in an honorary/decoy sense, for the real Sandbaggers in attendance. Funny, how I can run the living crap out of the SE and never totally lose my wingmen, Buizilla and Madpoodle. Remind me tell you about the chisled pitch numbers on a prop on a certain, darker color Crit a year or two ago at Lake George. Classic stuff.
Then, there is Itillfli, Mr. People's Choice Mean Machine Award Winner for AOTH X. And Dad taught him all the River-running tricks, so you will get no breaks...
As for me, now that I'm going to commit to the plate, I need to start propping the boat. Maybe, Griz will have some mercy on me and let me try that OXP again. The nose of the Flowerpot feels like somebody attached an anchor to it, so we need a little lift. I'll be lucky to keep up with Hedge in the x-18, whimper, whimper...
We will get up and roll Friday morning. Should be in a little after lunch.
Don't think the list has changed much, but we got plenty of food for Saturday night, so c'mon on down if you are fence sitting!
For got to mention I am making the run in an 11 foot whaler with a 20 hp Evinrude...."before"
whew... my one hour lead time is safe... but not by much.. :w:
**** guys... it's been painful following this thread knowing I'd be out of the games. Catch ya next time.
I just realized that there are 2 time zones that could be used for this gathering. Are we using EST or Central? Don't want to be late. :flag:
"We" must mean the new guy on the dock.
I use the time zone where we are actually staying. It is the only way I can keep it clear. The marina now operates on central as they should. They had to do it too because folks kept showing up at wrong times. I have spent a number of years living on the edge of a time zone. There are fewer missed appointments as a result. The only way it works it to remember that and use the timezone of your physical location. I have managed crews of people that tried to use the time zone of another location just because it was a bigger place. Once I made them operate on "local time" many of the problems went away.
Georgia people that have not been around the marina for very long do it the other way. We have one or two old timers at the marina that still fight that (aka Garth).
When going to Chattanooga, you always need to remember that.
I talked to Marine Max and they agreed to let us park in the protected area on the inside of the floating docks for $10 per boat.
It is usually $1 per foot. They manage it for the city and can't really give it away (at least to 10-15 boats). For those that don't want to come off the $10, you can tie up on the concrete docks on the water front. Those are not as bad and are technically in a no wake zone. This no wake zone is often violated by folks in cruisers that like to come by waking people at half plane. For some reason most of the offenders drive Sea Rays and Meridians.
Tex and I discussed leaving a car at the Marine Max dock in case anyone needs to go to the store (or parts store). Tex came up with that one. Since Donzi Vol is coming along, I thought it was a good idea.
There is also a restaurant that has dockage. I will run down there later this week. It is decent and may be a good alternative.
Since I have no boat at this gathering, I have no chit to talk. BUT, if the owner of the boat I will be riding in wants me to stir the pot, please let me know. I would be happy to trash talk my ass off.......
Tex, missed yor call, call my home 706-216-8194. I don't walk far at all. takigthe cart is out because we are taling the z and no room for anything butn luggage.
Well, of course I want a ride in the ZX. Jim has offered a seat in his Critter. Hoping Bill might offer a ride in the X. Spoke to Poodle this morning and he is on the fence about dragging his Critter up there. Anyone else need some ballast, I am good for 190 pounds of it.......
I'm really not going for running the boats, I am really going for the Goony Golf!!!!!
Looks like Heidi, Max and I will be joining Weasel in the Whaler.. Critter's down, no time to deal with it right now..
I'll bring the Lifelines, and a gas card :) :)
I get in at 2:10. No checked luggage, say curbside at 2:30 ish? :)
I've got room for the Pro-Max.. We could bolt it on the Whaler...:w: :willy: :w:
You and Heidi are welcome on the Flowerpot, the Maxster? Not so much...
The FP ain't prop-tuned, but she is a hoot. I'm thinking we run the six-blade and drag the Whaler/Promax combo for chuckles and grins...
And we have the steak marinade combo perfected as of this weekend... Yummy, this or that, this or that...
Looking at the weather forecast, what is this 95 degrees with 95% humidity and a heat index of 105 stuff? :danger:
it was 101* on my lakehouse deck on Saturday !
