I have advil over here, but you'll have to come get it I ain't movin for awhile..
sitting at the atl airport already missibg a docl. amazing weekend. thanks to everyone. will catch up more when i get home
Amen to feeling Bushwacked! Actually felt pretty good this AM. Just have no energy now.
Thanks Bryan, Bill and the A-Dock crew for hosting such a great event! The fast run up and back down the gorge to Chattanooga was a great day on the water.
I find it interesting that jet skis want to avoid A-Dock - for good reason. I use to call them targets, but A-Dock has reached new unheard of levels for jet ski eradication.
Got the 22 home safe, sound and DRY - interstate blow-dry travel did the trick. Washed it and now safely covered and put away
What a great time. The last of us are heading out for dinner.
-A three-legged Pomeranian is the head dog on A-Dock. Get in line, even if you are 100 pounds of yellow lab.
-A Donzi burns a lot less fuel at 40 than it does at 80. Cool run to Goose Pond, and we even saw a bald eagle and several osprey on the way back. Eight gallons left in the tank was cutting it a bit close, though.
-Always good to see a new set of faces mixed in with the familiar ones. Nice to meet you Stan aka “Inferno” and Susan. I look forward to more of those offshore racing stories.
-Grizz has hair! And more spunk than ever. He really did ride with a test prop for me in the front seat. Thank you.
-Cam is living evidence that there really are good kids out there.
-The people of A-Dock are some of the nicest, unassuming, well-equipped for a good time, folks I have ever met.
-Last Real Texan does still own a Donzi and seems to enjoy running it. Donzi Weasel takes about six cups of coffee in the morning to open the eyeballs beyond slits. You guys were a hoot on the fighting deck of the battle wagon in the morning.
-Thanks Russ for helping me out with the grill chef duties. Lot of meat to cook and they ate almost all of it. Thanks to everyone who kicked in with sides and desserts. it was a feast.
-If you couldn’t find something to drink, it was you own dang fault.
-Buizilla has some new tricks up his sleeve. Do it. Thanks for your thoughts on the set-up of the Flowerpot, yet again.
-DonziVol has a +1 in the good karma column for stopping to help some folks out on the water right before a driving rain storm.
-Sandbagger Emertius goes to Tom Riggle for selling his boat to Jason and Cathy and skipping the details on that slightly warmed over 454. Still a very nice running boat.
-The Baxters fly in true style with the RV and Harley in the back. If you haven’t ordered a DMRS shirt, do so before he runs out, they are very nice.
-If we had left ten minutes later for Chattanooga, we would have enjoyed quite the little line of thunder storms. What is one of our runs without a little challenging weather?
-The Gorge is some of the nicest running you could ever get in a Donzi. There were times we ran five and six across in great conditions.
-If you wear flip flops, chances are pretty good that they will wind up in the drink.
-Thanks to Hedgehog and Christina for putting this on and hosting us and many others in a steady stream of traffic on the Roamer all weekend. I did not know about the express stairs option until late Thursday night. Your buddy Brett aka “The Captain” is not human, squidbillie and all.
-Bushwackers can be bad news, but some custom Kettleone martinis can make a few folks do some different things too!
-Let’s do it again!
Thanks to all that attended the first annual gorge run. The A Dockers enjoyed the company and party.
The raft up this afternoon was fun. It was great to keep Grizz, Lady Grizz and Buiz on the water for another ride.
To those that want a snapshot of the hospitality, I would recommend attending the fall poker run. SE came to the spring run and that is where this idea was hatched.
More pics and commentary will be coming once I get back to the house. I have some awesome shots of Weasel.
I got to meet some neat new people. I hope to see them again.
Made it back late last night. I already miss A dock. Being my first gathering, I definetly had some highlights. I would say these are them-
1. Going 110 miles down the Tennessee with Jim in his beautiful Critter. Saw maybe 3-4 boats running and a few bass fisherman during the entire run.
2. Going 90 mph, what I call "neck fat flapping fast", in Bryans ZX
3. Driving Bill's X-18, amazing boat. It is perfect and needs nothing.
4. Jim taking Lock lifejacket safety VERY seriously.
5. Running up a beautiful gorge with 9 Donzi's, alot of the time running 5-6 wide.
6. Getting Bushwacked on A dock.
Thanks to everyone for making me feel part of the crowd. Great group of guys I am proud to call my freinds. I wasn't hard to find, just look for the really sweaty guy who wasn't Jim.
I have bunch of pics, but here are a few of my favorites.....

Who is this guy and why is he so **** happy?
http://i176.photobucket.com/albums/w...s/IMGP0022.jpg
What do you mean you can't ride a jet ski in a hot tub?
http://i176.photobucket.com/albums/w...s/IMGP0063.jpg
"quit taking pictures of me while I amtaking pictures of you!" "No, YOU quit taking pictures of me while I am taking them of YOU"
http://i176.photobucket.com/albums/w...s/IMGP0066.jpg
Man, I can't wait to drink them margaritas. What, you mean we came here to eat, not drink?
Todd is right, it is about the people. Got more to say, but have to get to work.
Susan and I want to thank all of you for making us feel like part of your family. Great weekend with great hospitality, great food, fine looking DONZI'S and lots of laughs.... Thanks to all of you again, Stan and Susan
A little taste of what you guys missed......

http://i176.photobucket.com/albums/w...s/IMGP0059.jpg
"Stan, hunny, my arm is getting tired from holding this hat on for the last hour and a half." "Don't worry Susan only 55 miles to go......"
http://i176.photobucket.com/albums/w...s/IMGP0033.jpg
Man, I'm not feeling to Mojo at this ramp. I think I will wait Bryan out and let him be first and see how it goes with the ZX.
http://i176.photobucket.com/albums/w...s/IMGP0074.jpg
"Baxter, for the love of god man, if I have any chance of the Flower Pot taking on Tex's ZX, you have to go on a diet...."
http://i176.photobucket.com/albums/w...s/IMGP0087.jpg
"Alright everyone, boats pointed all the same way, everyone needs dock lines that are the color of your hull and rub rail screws need to be the same direction before we go to lunch."
http://i176.photobucket.com/albums/w...s/IMGP0088.jpg
"I'll have the fish and chips. Yep, same for me, fish and chips. Are the fish and chips good? They are, I will get those. Fish and chips for me. What are you getting? Fish and Chips? Thats what I'll have then. Hey Weasel, I'll trade you a crab cake for some of your fish and chips."
http://i176.photobucket.com/albums/w...s/IMGP0040.jpg
Ahhh, found the sweet spot. 110 miles at 3950 rpms and I don't give a **** how fast everyone else is going.
http://i176.photobucket.com/albums/w...s/IMGP0064.jpg
"Weasel, I'm glad that dude decided to sack up and cook us some burgers. He had no idea how close his life came to ending......."
Got more.
Okay Weasel, what exactly is THAT you brought along to ride with us? Whatever it is, please keep it over THERE with you.
with his feet... I don't even want to know, WHO or WHAT was actually driving those two.
Make sure you grab the Donzi keys at the docks. Poodle already has our trailer hooked to his RV to assist us at the ramp. He is so helpful...
to Sandbagger #2, COME BACK!
at WARP SPEED! (Sorry Dave, I had to do it)
Where's Tex?

"Hi honey, I'm home. Want to know how the trip went?" "About time you got home. No I do not want to know how the trip went, I want you to grab one of these babies!"
What a great weekend! I needed a little time away from the ordinary, and I think a lot of my fellow attendees did as well. It was great getting to know some of you guys better and sharing some great stories. My list of what I learned:
1. There is something special about East TN (especially A-Dock!)
2. Bushwackers are a good thing...in moderation
3. I brought the wrong pie
4. It's a good thing that I like the view of the back of a Donzi
5. I need a big boat (known that one for a while)
6. Most importantly: It feels really good to be the guy towing a boat rather than the guy being towed!
Had fun guys...let's do it again sooner rather than later.
All the best,
David
p.s. glad to be here :D
Thanks to all! The Donzi crowd and A Dock sure know how to host an event. The hospitality of A dock, Hedge, Tex, RT, and the rest of the gang was spectacular. It was great to meet Hedge (The Roamer is HUGE and beautiful!), Tex and his great family (The Pacemaker and neck flapping fast ZX are beautiful boats!), Jim and his super clean Critter is like a time capsule (It was great to meet the legend and chat about diesels and Donzi's), Stan and Susan (I look forward to meeting up on Lanier and chatting about your colorful racing history and seeing two teal 22's on Lanier! Good luck with your build.), Donzi Vol it was great to meet you and check out the 18, lookin' good!, Red Dog, it was great to meet you and what a nice 22! and did I mention I got to meet the Weasel! It was a pleasure and I hope you get your critter back together soon. Make sure you and the gang make it out here soon!
It was nice to see Randy and Barb (lookin' good Grizz with the killer smile! We need to have a Lanier run whenever you and Barb are ready!), Scott and Heidi (Scott, if you still have shirts, let me know and we can try to meet up Friday), Russ and Shelia (The silver bullet is lookin' great and was the only one with dry seats after lunch! hmmm), Todd and Jill (thanks for giving Kathy a ride to A Dock and the flower pot is just stunning! I need a ride next time! As for Tom and his sandbagging about Tomahawk, I guess I just have big shoes to fill:grin:).
Thanks to those we didn't mention as well. We had a great time! Chatt was a beautiful setting for a great run with great people, great food, and great boats. We look forward to next time...
Thanks for everything!
Jason & Kathy
Jason, as for filling the Tomahawk shoes, you have already done it!!! Like it or not you ARE part of the family!!! Now use that boat.
Man, tough week. Wish I was back at ole A dock drinking a whacker.
Russ and Jason, it was nice to meet both of you and I wish I had had more time to hang out. Next time.
Stan, had a great time with you and Susan. Tell Susan we do have cattle drives in Jackson and she is more than welcome to come participate!!!
Grizz and Barbara, had a great time. Great to finally meet both of you. I always wondered if Grizz was married to someone who was more than his match. I can say he is now.
Jim, your Critter is amazing. Glad I got to burn some fuel with ya. I can honestly say that yours is probably nicer than mine, but not by much!!!
Scott, very nice to meet you finally. Thanks for the board, the t-shirts, and whatever the hell drinks you were making me. Tasty, but potent. Heidi is a great person and I really enjoyed talking with her.
Bryan and Bill, see ya this winter. We know where we stand.....
Finally, Tripper. The Flower Pot is amazing. Had a ball hanging out with you and Jill.
Critter isn't running again, bummer.
man I missed out on this trip big time, looks like everyone had a awesome time. :thumbs for all the pictures.
Yeah, you probably should have headed our way. Or at least sent a representative like the one you had with you at AOTH. Has she gotten used to not having a "place to lay out" yet?
Nice tag line, BTW. Love the windshield debate...
and in comparison, this week really, really sucked. I truly do live in the real life equivalent of Dilbert. Amazing.
Is their such a thing as PDRS? Post Donzi Rally Syndorme? If so, the perscribed martini therapy is not working.
Need that Bushwacker recipe...
BTW that syndrome Trip talks about is real. I suffer from it several times a year. No offense but A51 you messed up.
Yikes,
Sorry for the delayed response.
Red Dog Posted it on the thread "Bushwhacked Again"
Ours is similar but my amounts are for a 2.5 gallon batch. I don't use ice cream and substitute half and half cream of coconut.
Always feel free to call me for emergencies like this. Randy should have my number. If not I will resend.
