2016 Texas roundup
Possum kingdom lake
Third weekend in Sept.
sounds fun.
Wow, I just went back through my stuff and looked. Last time we were there was 2007. Fun place and we'd love to go back. Our schedule is open right now and I'll pencil this in and see as we get closer next year.
I'm in.
So can we convince some Canucks to come down for another one?
They really need to make it to Texas once a decade. LOL
I'm interested.
So, Mikey...3rd weekend is a bit confusing. I think you mean 22nd thru 25th. But Sept 1st is on a Thursday, so it that is the 1st weekend, then the 3rd would be 15th thru 18th.
then the 3rd would be 15th thru 18th.
Attending....
Mark Horne
Trueser
Robert Gerometta
looks like a bit of a haul to bring a boat down from here............
in my experience, Texas never seems to disappoint... put me on the list of attending
So who else can we get to coerce, um I mean entice into attending?
Food man food!!!! Who's bringing what?
I'm in for whatever is needed. I might just make a batch of suicide salsa. It's been a few years.

Jeannette and I are in with the Sonic
:lurk::map:
Janet and I are in!
A Non-Donzi is one thing, but a Sonic?!?!? :sarcastic:
I talked to the folks at Bass Hollow last week and secured 8 motel rooms and 2 cabins for the weekend of the 16th-18th. She asked me to wait until today to post because they have been slammed, the lake is at 100%.
You can call Bass Hollow at 940 549 0104 and reserve your rooms. She also told me the entire resort was available that weekend at this time.

Charlie McCarthy gets Banana mold from Don
Banana begat Coyote
Coyote molds sold to Sonic in early 80's
It's sort of like the "6 Degrees of Kevin Bacon", LOL!!:D
Maybe the Cig 24? Possible that the Sonic 26 was stretched?
i don't *think* so--I think Charlie McCarthy still has the Cig hull mold at Banana. and the Cig 24 looks different--slightly less freeboard maybe and definitely a ridge in the hull side that the early Sonics lack.
The Sonic 24 looks like a Spitfire/Doral/Spirit 24 to my eye, from the rub rail down.

Another Sonic 24 I think, but with less going on, so it's easier to see the hullside.

It's TEXAS and I'll do whatever the hell I want to do. Maybe stick a SONICHAWK sticker on it. Now to more important things like figure out like why the hell I keep getting a port manifold overheat alarm when everythings repaced..... Hummm :confused:
Might have a Cabo trip during this time anyway. Trying a work around at the moment.
Sonic built the El Pescador and the Spit (slightly modified) in limited quantities...
Just wanted to let people know the Texas Roundup is on for this year. Possum Kingdom is at 100% and we have the rooms at Bass Hollow, phone number is 940-549-0104. The dates are September 16-18th. Come on Y'all!!
For anyone looking to "RV" it, there are tons of spots available at PK state park. We will be over there...
This sounds like fun, but we're off to Lake George in 1-1/2 weeks, and we're coming to the Hill Country
in October.
I still have a business to run too.
Have fun!
bump bump
who's going ?
Janet and I will be there! Bought a new trailer, now the Donzi is road trip worthy!
PJ and I will be there. Bass Hollow also has RV hookups.
See ya there,
Mark
I'm planning on bringing the " Homer Special " if we can get it correctly tuned and prop tested .. Hope the cops aren't *****s, as she is a tad bit loud .
We switched to Bass Hollow.
Great choice Jim,it's a long way to state park by car. Just takes a few minutes by boat, but I hate that after dark.
Three weeks and counting.
Mark
Thanks Mark! I think so too! Looking forward to meeting y'all!
Anyone other Texas Donzi's ?
Due to unforeseen circumstances, I will not be able to make it this year.
I hope everyone has a great time.
Taz
I'll be there with my sweet baby girl!
Folks - The Normal SH!T SHOW for me, so Friday JimG and I are planning a fish fry for everyone. I may even get the gumption to do Fish Tacos?!?!?. We're bringing the fish and a few other fry-able items. If y'all want to kick in on some more side, feel free http://www.donzi.net/forums/images/s...ookaroundb.gif
Also, I'm going to cook breakfast tacos one morning, so if you're bringing some breakfast items, we can pool them up and feast like kings
The plan is to be in the water by Thursday afternoon.
