Default How Many Gorge Runners need good fuel

I am trying to arrange for some better fuel at Goose Pond so folks won't be riding home on fumes. So far it seem that the worst case is filling a 100 gallon tank with race gas.

How many need the high octane stuff?

    I do,

Got the sign off from Goose Pond for us to bring race gas. They have a wagon to take it down to the dock. No running on fumes on the way back this year!

    Run them like you want!

Thanks Tim. So far I am showing 5 that need race gas. Our current 100 gallon tank should work.

Thanks for hooking us up on the fuel. A tanker filling us up would have been a pretty cool sight if we needed a lot more

The back of Hedges truck will be the tanker!

We can actually pull off up to a thousand gallons (not in Hedges truck though). I would imagine at some level the Goose Pond fuel dock would not buy the whole "Octane Booster" concept!

I have a 100 gallon tank and a very ineffecient boat what with my drive 4 feet in the water and all. 100 gallons for 5 of us enough? Not sure where all this is taking place so just curious.

the Friday run is about 109-110 miles roundtrip if I remember right....

so if you can get 1.5+ mpg without too much frogginess you'll be golden

the Sat run is about 68-70 miles roundtrip unless we go to the dam, which I want to go at least that far... so with 100 gal you have MORE than enough for frogginess

Last year to Goose Pond on Friday was gorgeous, but we ran 40-45 the whole way to conserve fuel, and I almost ran out any way. Goose Pond does not have premium.

So, this year our illustrious host has made arrangements for a little high octane for blending. Anything for the fussy, high octane guys, I say. And what a host, he is.

Frankly, I do want to get a little froggy and worrying all day about range takes some of the fun out of it, so I think this will work.

Quick question for Hedge, does Goose Pond carry 89? Even with 87, I should be good with 10 gallons, which leaves plenty for the big gulp guys.

a note about Goose Pond.... if you need to get to the fuel docks DO NOT go under the walk bridge to get to the marina fuel dock, go all the way around the point...

    Inferno will confirm that

also, on the T dock we tie up at, the south or west side has a shallow entry/exit, I can confirm that..

I do not get 1.5 mpg for sure with this drive the way it sits I used twice the gas my freind Dave used running to lees ford at aoth I used almost 80 gallons there and back with a couple high speed passes out front of Jamestown he used less than 40 and we went side by side the whole way. Might have scored a shortie today but it wont be ready for this trip These arangements will be great Cant wait. Might be bringing the 16 then it wont matter at all We shall see
