Default Wanted: 22' Classic project boat

I realize this is a tall order but I want to go ahead and start a search for a 22' Classic project boat. I need it to be cheap, so I will consider one any most in any condition. Year model is not really much of a concern but the older the better.

"We" had a black/white 87 LE go for 8$k recently with a 454 and alpha. Needed work. Is that the kind of money you are referring to ?

Lenny, I would really prefer one without a motor or a drive....seems to me that oughta be in the $4000-$5000 range unless the hull is in good to great condition...or cheaper if really crappy. If it has a motor and a drive I might go up to $8000 but that would be the top end of my budget. I really want to install a new engine, drive, steering, gauges...everything. I saw one recently on Ebay or somewhere and I think it was Buy-it-now priced at $4000-$4500 or around that. Chances are I would be re-gelling or painting the hull anyway, so it does not have to be in great condition cosmetically as long as it is fairly structurally sound. Transom does'nt have to be perfect shape cause I would likely replace it and I would expect to repair/replace some stringers and such anyway. I would most likely also yank the gas tank and install a new one even unless the original is fairly pristine.
