The Abyss, nicely done.
Did some more reading and figgerin' on the Bermuda Challenge. Fertig drove a 39 Skater custom (stepped deep V), T/5.9 Cummins 480hp, Arnesons, and 600gal of fuel. Started out at 70mph but ended up running most of it at 55. The boat would run 70 full and 84 light, and their intent was to keep her on the pins the whole way across, at least until they started slinging prop blades. Weather was pretty good, 3-4s leaving NY Harbor and 2-3s for the rest of the time.
I will say that it takes some nads to change out a heavy Arneson prop, at night, in the water, in 2-3s. Especially when it's your last spare...
38 ZRC with 600hp Cat or Cummins power and a ton of fuel (actually multiple tons of fuel) and the right drives would be a contender. I'm less enthused about the surface drives after the issues they had. They theorized that the torque was killing the props.
