Started out at 70mph but ended up running most of it at 55. The boat would run 70 full and 84 light, and their intent was to keep her on the pins the whole way across, at least until they started slinging prop blades. Weather was pretty good, 3-4s leaving NY Harbor and 2-3s for the rest of the time.

I will say that it takes some nads to change out a heavy Arneson prop, at night, in the water, in 2-3s. Especially when it's your last spare...

38 ZRC with 600hp Cat or Cummins power and a ton of fuel (actually multiple tons of fuel) and the right drives would be a contender. I'm less enthused about the surface drives after the issues they had. They theorized that the torque was killing the props.
One general statement, who the hell rebuilds a dead man's boat, especially if the dead man died on it? I always thought the white color on the Baker boat suited it.

Now, back to the fun...

After very little deliberation, I am definitely in on securing the sponsorship rights to have Phoebe splashed down the side of the boat, and of course, as depicted in Fast Times in a red bikini. I am sure Kevin wouldn't mind, since she hasn't done anything since 1989! Easy call over Sally, although I will always consider her the official spokesperson for the MPO cause. Maybe we can make her spokesperson-emeritus, and not show her current bio to anyone, anymore....eeewww.

As for the endurance runs. We need to work ourselves up to this with persistence and thorough diligence. I say a perfect trial run would be at the First Annual Gorge Offshore Classic. A good run to Chattanooga and back could certainly prove our metal in terms of equipment preparation and solidify the team. Especially with the heady competition from Bayliner Offshore Racing and Team Allison!

Next could be the Key West to Cancun Run. Hell if Reggie can do it in eight and change with a cruiser, we should be able to accomplish it in forty-eight. Could be a b*i*t*c*h* (automated board censor can bite me BTW) getting back, after we drink all of the tequila in Cozumel. Somebody make sure to hit the GPS breadcrumb feature on the way out, please.

One point of contention already though. I like Buzzi drives over Arnies....
