Make it so, Oh MADCOW master!
A central place to stay and maybe a place to launch that isn't a beach would be a great start. Entertaining for the swimmers, not so much for the 22 guys.
Maybe a trip up to Charlevoix and the big lake too.
I'll never forget spotting 357 feet on the depth finder off of Petosky and hearing Jill start humming the Edmund Fitgerald refrain last time we were there. Priceless.
Oh, and we still need to get over to that tequila bar in Boyne and sample the wares!
Todd Thank You on behalf of us madcow people for taking the ball a running with it.... You have a lot of experience in running events...we here in the mich area will proudly support you and your efforts... Thank You Again Mick :horse:
Great job stepping up, Mick, and congratulations on your new title!
Count me in on whatever your plans include, plus I am even willing to do light legwork if called upon.
Todd is right, Torch ramps are woeful...especially is the water level is down.
For what it's worth, the Boyne City "Thunder" Poker Run is a pretty cool event. I spent some time there on the Thursday evening before the run and there were already some pretty serious rigs assembled. Maybe we could coordinate a small Donzi gathering on a nearby lake, and still wander around the Boyne City docks for a side diversion?
How about Charlevoix so we can venture onto Lake Michigan if conditions permit? Or why not Lake St. Clair which opens up endless oportunities? The run to Put-in-Bay is awesome. The new MotorBoating mag calls it the Key West of the Great Lakes and possibly the most popular boating destination of the entire Great Lakes. Geez, I can't believe we don't have a major gathering in Michigan.![]()
