Default DMRS to help sponsor Sunnyland Antique Boat Show March 24-26 2017

Just a quick heads up: DMRS is happy to announce we will be helping sponsor the Sunnyland Antique Boat Show this year, March 24 - 26. We are putting together a Donzi dock, all registered Donzi's will be welcome to join us. Trailer display is also available, but whats the fun in that? We are planning an early morning boat run to Breakfast Saturday, returning back to the docks by 0930ish with of course a mandatory flyby right? Great show, looking forward to again seeing a lot of you folks there!!

    ACBS Sunnyland boat show
This is a well attended event. It probably equals the attendance of the ACBS show in New York. Additionally, this falls in the Spring Break season. Last year, on the Saturday of the event, there were 175,000 folks traveling through the Orlando Airpost. Rooms become scarce.
    Harris Chain of Lakes Hotels
Lakeside Inn http://www.lakeside-inn.com/ Opened in 1883 as a winter resort complete w/ rail connection, and while it’s still the center of Mt. Dora society, does have a dock, many of its facilities are getting a little long in the tooth, and it’s pricey. It’s always in high demand for events such as this, so book early or go elsewhere.
Mission Inn http://www.missioninnresort.com/ By far the nicest facility in the area. It primarily caters to golfers. Has really great restaurants. It’s near the south shore of Lake Harris and a 15 minute drive to Wooten Park
Key West Resort http://www.keywestlakedora.com/ Literally across the street from Wooten Park. New, but I don’t know anything else about it.
Holiday Inn Express, Taveres https://www.ihg.com/holidayinnexpres...oteldetail_ex& Very nice hotel 10 minutes from Wooten Park.

    Quality Inn, Mt. Dora http://qualityinnmountdorafl.com/
Best Western Plus Chain of Lakes, Leesburg http://www.reservations.com/hotel/be...tes?rmcid=rcc1 New and nice.
There’s at least 10-15 more, all the major chains are here.

A little additional information concerning Mission Inn. They have a small offsite marina and provide a shuttle between the inn and the marina. The marina is on the south shore of Lake Harris and is about a 50 min run by boat from the marina to the show. The 50 min is dictated by a slow zone through the Dead River connecting Lake Harris and Lake Eustis, and an idle speed zone through the Dora Cannel connecting Lake Eustis and Lade Dora. There is a good public boat ramp at Hickory Point Park with good parking and docks minutes from the inn and marina. The run through the Dora Cannel is a wonderful old old Florida experience. In the Dead River there is a hamburger /beer / oyster bar on the water with a non-ethanol gas pump (Palm Gardens).

Thanks for the additional info! I was aware of their marina, but I couldn't see any info on their web site.
It's good to know the Resort still owns that facility.
The Hickory Point facility is great and can handle a lot of traffic.
Since my business is in Leesburg, I use the ramp at Venetian Gardens Park. Four ramps and lots of parking.
It is located on the NW shore of Lake Harris.

Well, the cat is out of the bag.... and soon as "Woodyboater" reports on it, everyone with an old boat knows. I sooooooooo wish I was going (jealous).
